As a passionate and experienced Head Teacher, I have an extensive track record in transforming school systems, refining teaching methodologies, and improving student outcomes. Throughout my leadership roles at Shelley First School and Arab International School, I have demonstrated a strong ability to build capacity, guide educational reform, and spearhead initiatives that directly enhance the educational experiences of students and staff alike. My expertise encompasses school management, personalised learning programs, and the implementation of innovative teaching strategies, all aimed at fostering sustainable, positive change within the education sector.
Key Achievements:
Leadership Excellence:
I attained ‘Outstanding’ recognition from Ofsted for my exemplary leadership and management skills. By cultivating a supportive and collaborative school environment, I successfully mentored and guided staff through the school’s unique culture, operational practices, and teaching protocols. My leadership approach prioritises professional growth, enabling staff members to refine their teaching skills while contributing to the school’s broader vision and goals. I also led staff development initiatives that focused on evidence-based teaching practices and performance improvements, resulting in higher engagement and improved student outcomes.
Teacher Training & Mentorship:
As a coordinator of Initial Teacher Training (ITT), I forged strong, lasting partnerships with over eight teacher training providers and universities. These collaborations allowed me to build a robust pipeline of talented, well-trained educators ready to meet the demands of the modern classroom. In my role as an Early Career Teacher (ECT) facilitator, I played a key part in delivering the revised teacher training program to more than 200 Early Career Teachers, helping them transition smoothly into their professional roles. Through personalised mentorship, I equipped new teachers with the practical tools and pedagogical strategies needed to thrive, while aligning them with national education standards as part of the Department for Education’s accredited team.
Mathematics Pedagogy:
With a focus on Mathematics education, I attained Professional Development (PD) Lead accreditation from the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM), further supported by a Post Graduate Certificate in Educational Practice in Mathematics from Chester University. This certification empowered me to deliver high-quality professional development across schools in England. I have collaborated with over 100 schools, working alongside the Department for Education and the Yorkshire and Humber Maths Hub to successfully implement the Teaching for Mastery approach. This program, rooted in international best practices from research conducted in Shanghai, significantly raised standards of Mathematics teaching across schools, resulting in marked improvements in student attainment.
Stakeholder Engagement:
A key strength of my leadership lies in building and nurturing strong, positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and governing bodies. I prioritise open communication and collaborative engagement to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned with the school’s mission and goals. As a board member for Bradford University, I played a pivotal role in curriculum development, fundraising initiatives, and strengthening school-community relations. My involvement in these strategic areas allowed me to influence key decisions that shaped the educational experiences of countless students and contributed to the broader success of the university and its partner schools.
National and International Contributions:
My influence extends beyond local educational initiatives to both national and international levels. I have contributed significantly to educational reforms and improvements by offering bespoke support, delivering workshops, and hosting conferences aimed at raising teaching standards and enhancing educational outcomes. These efforts have had a far-reaching impact, benefiting schools and educators not only in England but also across Asia and the Middle East. My global collaborations in Bangkok, Dubai, India, and Pakistan have focused on leadership training, curriculum innovation, and policy development, further solidifying my commitment to educational excellence on a global scale.
Through strategic leadership, I continuously strive to innovate, elevate teaching standards, and foster environments where both staff and students can thrive. My dedication to educational excellence and my ability to create transformational change have consistently led to success in every aspect of my career, whether through classroom-based initiatives or systemic educational reforms.
